Priorities for a Stronger Peterborough
Listening. Leading. Building Together.
Every candidate can make promises. What matters is whether those promises are grounded in how cities actually work and whether the person making them has the experience to see them through.
Here's where I stand.
-
A city works best when people feel safe, supported, and connected to where they live.
Mental health, addiction, homelessness, community safety, and affordability are not isolated issues anymore. Families across Peterborough are feeling the pressure in different ways, whether in Northcrest or throughout the rest of our city.
My priority is to support practical solutions that improve safety while also strengthening the services, partnerships, and community supports people rely on every day. That means working collaboratively with frontline organizations, residents, businesses, city staff, healthcare partners, and neighbouring municipalities to help build a healthier and more connected city.
This is not about slogans or political talking points. It is about listening, understanding root causes, and helping move forward solutions that make sense for Peterborough today and long term.
Key Focus Areas:
Mental health and addiction supports
Community safety and neighbourhood well being
Housing and affordability conversations
Better collaboration with organizations already doing the work on the ground
Supporting families, youth, and seniors

Peterborough is growing quickly, especially in the north end, and growth needs to be managed responsibly.
Residents want to see development done properly, roads and infrastructure maintained, traffic concerns addressed, and services able to keep up with population growth. At the same time, we need to protect the character, beauty, and livability that make Peterborough special.
I support thoughtful development that balances growth with community impact. That means asking hard questions, planning ahead, and making sure decisions are made with long term sustainability in mind, not just short term wins.
Growth should strengthen our city, not stretch it beyond capacity.
Key Focus Areas:
Infrastructure planning and road improvements
Responsible residential and commercial growth
Protecting green space and community character
Supporting smart development in Northcrest and across the city
Long term planning over short term reactions

Small businesses are the backbone of Peterborough, and I have spent years working directly alongside them.
Through my marketing business, community partnerships, Chamber work, and event production, I have had a front row seat to both the challenges and opportunities facing local entrepreneurs, trades, not for profits, artists, and employers.
Peterborough also has a major strength that we do not talk about enough. We are the gateway to the Kawarthas, and that gives us a real opportunity to grow tourism, support local business, and strengthen our economy.
From our live music scene and performing arts venues to local galleries, festivals, events, and incredible creative talent, Peterborough already has the foundation of a vibrant arts and culture community. We have world class musicians, artists, performers, and creators right here in our city.
I believe arts and culture are not just entertainment. They are economic drivers.
If we invest in and support these industries properly, we can attract more visitors from outside our region, increase foot traffic for local businesses, create opportunities for local talent, and continue building a city people are proud to visit, support, and call home.
Peterborough has always been a hardworking city. At the same time, we should not underestimate the power of creativity, tourism, and culture in helping fuel our future growth.
Key Focus Areas:
Supporting small businesses and local entrepreneurs
Tourism, arts, culture, and events
Showcasing Peterborough as the gateway to the Kawarthas
Supporting local artists, musicians, and performers
Youth retention and job opportunities
Strengthening Peterborough’s identity and visitor economy
Building stronger relationships between business, council, and community organizations

People are tired of division, political games, and leaders talking at each other instead of working together.
I believe one of the most important things I can bring to council is relationship building. My experience serving on boards, working with not for profits, collaborating with businesses, organizing community initiatives, and working with people from very different backgrounds has taught me the value of listening first.
No single councillor fixes a city alone. Real progress comes from collaboration, respectful discussion, transparency, and finding common ground wherever possible.
I am not running to make unrealistic promises. I am running to work hard, ask questions, listen carefully, and help move practical ideas forward in the best interest of our community.
Key Focus Areas:
Transparent and respectful leadership
Strong collaboration with council and city staff
Listening to residents and community partners
Practical problem solving over politics
Long term thinking and accountability
These priorities aren't a wish list, they're a work plan. I've spent two decades figuring out how to get things done with limited resources, diverse stakeholders, and real community stakes. That's exactly what municipal governance requires.
Let's build something worth being proud of!
